THE DOOD TOOLBOX / INVENTORY
Free barcode generator
Turn an item identifier into a downloadable barcode. Choose a format, enter your value, and create a label for your inventory workflow.
YOUR LABEL
Generate a barcode to prepare your download.
From identifier to inventory
- Use a unique item identifier from your item master.
- Choose the format your scanner and receiving system support.
- Generate and download the SVG. Keep its white margins intact when printing.
- Test the printed label with your scanner before producing a batch.
Which format should you choose?
Code 128 is useful for internal alphanumeric identifiers such as DOOD-1001. Code 39 suits systems that expect its smaller uppercase character set. EAN-13 is intended for numeric retail identifiers and includes a check digit. Creating a barcode image does not register or assign a globally unique retail product number.
A barcode is a lookup key
The image encodes your value. It does not automatically store a product name, price or stock count. Your inventory system needs a matching item record so that scanning the value retrieves the right information.
Keep one owner for item creation, check duplicate identifiers before importing, and map the identifier consistently between POS, inventory and accounting. Explore accounting and inventory handoffs.
Generation runs in your browser. This tool does not upload your identifiers. Powered by the open-source JsBarcode library.
