Choose the employee source of truth

An HRMS usually supplies employee identity, role and employment status; an LMS manages learning activity. Confirm that this ownership fits your organisation. Use a stable employee identifier rather than a display name to link the records.

Define what completion means

Enrolment, attendance, assessment and completion are different events. Decide which one satisfies a training requirement and which evidence must be retained. A course version matters when employees need retraining after content changes.

Design joiner, mover and leaver behaviour

A new hire may need role-based assignments. A transfer may add training without erasing earlier evidence. A leaver’s access should end according to policy while authorised staff retain the required record. Test these changes separately from a routine nightly sync.

Scope the integration before promising it

Inspect the chosen products’ APIs, export formats and authentication options. Agree how failures are reported and who corrects unmapped employees. This is an implementation planning guide, not a prebuilt Dood LMS connector. Use a small employee cohort to validate the proposed connection first.

Keep the workflow connected.
